As the international community continues to ignore
the issue of human rights, including prisoners’ rights,
a Palestinian detainee died in the Israeli Nafha Desert Prison.

In a new Israeli crime against Palestinian prisoners,
28 year old Shadi Saaid Suliaman Saaidi died in the Nafha Desert Prison
due to medical negligence and bad treatment.
During a press conference, the Minister of Palestinian Prisoners’Affairs,
Ashraf Ajrmi, denied reports issued by the Israeli prison authority that
Saaidi was transferred to Soroka Prison where he died of lung infection.
Ajrmi blamed the prison authority for Saaidi’s death,
and added that his death was a result of medical negligence
and bad treatment by the prison authority.
Saaidi’s father confirmed that his son didn’t complain of a health
problem when he visited him in prison a month and a half ago.
パレスチナの囚人に対するイスラエルの新たな犯罪として、
28歳のシャディ・サイード・スレイマン・サイーディは、
医療過失と良くない待遇の為にナフファ砂漠刑務所で死亡しました。
パレスチナの捕虜問題担当大臣アシュラフ・アジャミィは、記者会見で
サイーディがソロカ刑務所に移され、そこで肺感染で死亡したという
イスラエル刑務所当局によって公表された報告を否定しました。
アジャミはサイーディの死について刑務所当局に責を帰し、彼の死が
刑務所当局による医療過失と良くない待遇の結果であると付け加えました。

Saaidi was arrested on July 29, 2005
in connection with the 2002 killings of 6 Israeli soldiers
near the West Bank town of Ein Areek west of Ramallah.
He appeared before a military court,
where he was found guilty and was sentenced to life.
Before his arrest, Saaidi worked as an officer in the Intervention
and Protection Unit of the Palestinian National Security Forces.
After the Ein Areek attack, Israel launched a series of retaliatory
offensives against the Palestinian security forces,
killing, wounding, and detaining dozens of security officers.
More than 11,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently held
in Israeli jails.
This number excludes the 256 Palestinian prisoners
released by Israel nearly two weeks ago.
According to Palestinian sources,
Israel has detained more than 500 Palestinians last month alone.
The plight of Palestinian prisoners in Israel is indeed
a national and a humanitarian case that can’t be overlooked.
It is the prisoners’ right as human beings
to be treated fairly and with dignity.
サイーディは、ラマラの西にある西岸の街 Ein Areek 近郊での2002年の
六人のイスラエル兵殺害に関連して2005年7月29日に逮捕されました。
彼は軍事法廷に出廷し、有罪と裁決され、終身刑を宣告されました。
逮捕前、Saaidi は、パレスチナ治安部隊の介入と保護部門要員として

Ein Areek 攻撃後、イスラエルは、
